Michael Healy is a metrology engineer at 3SPACE. He joined us in August of 2012 and is a product of the University of Maine’s Construction Engineering Technology program. When asked why he chose this profession, he explained,
” I’ve always been a detail oriented person, so the nature of the work really appealed to me. Being trusted to perform tasks that significantly impact the success of a project is both an honor and a great responsibility. Working with some of the smartest people in the industry, who constantly push me to learn new things makes those responsibilities easier to bear and the honor greater to share.”
Michael has traveled extensively during his time with 3SPACE, working on projects from New Hampshire to San Diego, including a major project in South Korea. When asked which project he is most proud of he quickly mentions the St Lucie Nuclear Plant Extended Power Uprate where he earned his metrology “wings”.
When not working hard in the field, Michael enjoys outdoor activities and the culinary arts. He says that he is looking forward to having a home, a family, a few dogs in the backyard, and a nice barbecue grill! We’re not sure what the order of acquisition will be.
Right now Michael is working on Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Generating Station located in Jenkinsville, SC. He is proud to say that he is aiding in the new construction of one of the first new nuclear power stations built in the US since the mid 70’s.
